Election Indignation - Fo Shizzle!
Maryland Governor Erhlich sent out a recent email containing implications of Baltimore Mayor O'Malley's leadership being investigated in an FBI probe into the Baltimore Police Department. The O'Malley camp of course cried "foul". During these outspoken interchanges in the news media, O'Malley appointees such as Kirsten Mahoney, Marcus Brown, and Commish Leonard Hamm have come out of the woodworks in support of the "meglomaniac". Btw, these peolpe would be the main subjects of a probe into the police agency since the poor tactics, pressure to make shitty arrests, and quota systems being used would fall squarely on their shoulders.
Coming forward in support moreso of the people of Baltimore than Erhlich is retired Judge Billy Murphy and State Delegate Jill Carter. Murphy was quoted in his analogy to Nazis and the PD tactics of locking up poor minorities most being released and never charged. Carter, of course, made the recent comments relative to O'Malley being a meglomanic. Not only do these two have a record of honesty they haven't been appointed to any six figure jobs by the Mayor which they aren't qualified to hold.
You can take a look at the most recent interchange here in the Baltimore Sun; that is until it disappears from circulation.
A few quotes for the readers should the article disappear:
It would have been better for the Rookie to have said, "for the Police Department to be used in any manner by any political entity is disgraceful" ... If Marcus Brown were really concerned about the death of Police that would have been his comment; years ago.
Have fun! Fo Shizzle!

A few quotes for the readers should the article disappear:
"Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr.'s re-election committee asserts in a mailing that "The FBI is investigating Martin O'Malley's leadership of the police department" - a charge denounced yesterday as "malicious" by O'Malley's gubernatorial campaign and "disgraceful" by a top Baltimore police official."
"The brochure - the latest to slam O'Malley's record on crime - names no specific investigation, but states that "the FBI launched an investigation of the Baltimore Police Department and their involvement in theft, rape and evidence planting."
"But Baltimore City Deputy Police Commissioner Marcus Brown reacted angrily to the mailing, saying that "the FBI currently does not have an open investigation in relation to the leadership of the Police Department or Martin O'Malley's leadership of the Police Department."Oh, yes it is true.
As for the statement in the brochure that the FBI had launched an investigation of the department, he said it was "not true."
"He also said that "for the Police Department to be used in this manner by any political campaign is disgraceful when it comes to the men and women who have died in the line of duty and who go out every night and try to make Baltimore safer."
"The campaign brochure further illustrates the sharply negative tone that has overtaken the governor's race in recent days. With Ehrlich trailing in the polls, he has focused intense criticism on Baltimore schools - some of which are the worst-performing in the state - and on crime.
In the past week, his campaign's attack on the city's crime rate has intensified. It began airing a radio commercial on black-orientated stations criticizing city police arrest policies that frequeand on Friday introduced two new television commercials attacking the mayor's record."
